West Midlands MEP Bill Etheridge says likened French president Macron to a teething toddler after the French leader said the UK should pay the £39bn Brexit bill whether there was a deal or not.
The petulant Premier even went as far to threaten to close Calais if the extortionate bill was not paid.
Bill Etheridge MEP, the Libertarian Party UK Deputy Chairman said “This sulking personification of establishment bullying is quite prepared to sacrifice jobs in his own country as well as employment in Ireland to make his point.
“What we need to do is to put this in perspective. Firstly, the French sell us far more than we sell them, so who comes off worst?
“Secondly, Dover is only our NINTH biggest port for imports and harming it would likely have more repercussions on tourist trade to France.
“Thirdly, the £3.5bn animal products trade that he seeks to damage would be more than offset by the amount of fish that French boats won’t be able to catch any more.
“So our little man should take his temper tantrums and direct them elsewhere. He might one day be up against a British Prime Minister with a spine again!”
